TWO CONSCIOUSNESS & TWO UNCONSCIOUSNESS

The Series 1 delves deeply into consciousness and unconsciousness. It focuses on expressing the id, the ego and the super ego in the psychoanalysis of Sigmund Freud, with main motives of the libido and the thanatos. How strongly the libido and the thanatos drive our consciousness? Is it possible that our consciousness puts them under control of our reasoning faculty against their powerful and unilateral, and irresistible demands? If humans are driven by unconsciousness, should we rely on another consciousness or force of the super ego in order to save the dignity of man? Does consciousness manifest itself as unconsciousness touches, and when unconsciousness becomes extinct, consciousness ceases to exist?  

[Description] 
Four dancers demonstrate that consciousness starts from the touch of unconsciousness, and harmony, love, coupling, and hatred are emerged from the integration, interference, and conflict between consciousness and unconsciousness, and the extinction of unconsciousness finally leads to put consciousness out of existence. 

시리즈 1의 주제는 인간의 의식(Consciousness)과 무의식(Unconsciousness)에 관한 것으로서, 지그문트 프로이드 (Sigmund Freud)의 정신분석학에 나오는 ID(원초아), EGO(자아), SUPER EGO(초자아)를 주체로 인간의 무의식을 지배하는 LIBIDO(성욕)과 THANATOS(죽음의 본능)를 모티브로 삼고 있다. 
LIBIDO(성욕)와 THANATOS(죽음의 본능)는 얼마나 강하게 의식을 지배하는가? 의식은 그들의 강력하고 일방적인 그리고 물리치기 어려운 요구에 저항하여 이성의 통제를 유지할 수 있는가? 인간이 무의식의 지배를 받는다면, 의식이 이성을 갖추고 본래의 인간 존엄성을 지키기 위해서 또 다른 의식이나 초자아의 힘에 의지해야 하는 것인가? 의식은 무의식의 터치로 발현되며, 무의식의 소멸은 의식의 소멸을 가져오는가?

4명의 무용수는 의식은 무의식의 터치로부터 시작되며 화합, 사랑, 섹스, 증오는 의식과 무의식의 결합, 간섭, 그리고 갈등으로 전개되며, 무의식의 소멸은 의식의 소멸로 발전한다는 개념을 표현하고 있다.
